Although he began with Japanese style rope, he quickly gravitated to the strict, clean, efficient, Western style of riggers like Matt Williams, Jay Edwards, Lew Rubens and Claire Adams. For him it IS about the simple, strict, positional bondage, and “what happens once she’s tied." Challenging predicaments are his favorite.
In the past few years he caught the photography bug and loves showing kinksters how easy it can be to get a quality shot with their gear, in almost any setting.
101-201 skill level. Single and double limb with any material, including nylon. Building positions, some basic solutions, and rope lengths. Pretty basic stuff. And a very basic safe-ish neck rope intro for sex!
Introduction to Predicament Play
Please bring YOUR ideas, and toys to construct and work on your evil ideas. Coming right out of bedroom ties, we'll demo a few fun, basic ideas, including using nipple clamps, neck ropes & Hitachi / Arcanas. Then we'll tie along a couple more advanced as a group. Finally, we'll have lab time and I'll circulate to help you try one of the earlier demo ideas, or help you tweak your own creation.
Wearing all the hats
We'll set up and shoot a fun scenario that could be a scene, performance or private sexy time. I will address the challenges of lighting and rigging for play all by yourself. These tips will help whether you're using your phone and natural light, or a bunch of photography gear and playing in a studio.
Following knot_head’s workshops, we will be offering our intro classes to those interested. RopeLab’s Rope 101 and/or Rope 102 curriculum will be offered depending on the needs of the group. time permitting
To get anywhere in rope as a top or bottom, you must master the fundamentals. This workshop is meant to be taken more than once so that you can create a solid foundation for more advanced techniques. You should have this stuff down before moving on to the 201 workshops. The workshop typically covers Rope Kits, Rope Handling Basics, Basic Chest Harnesses, Munter Hitches, Single-column ties, and a basic Futomomo pattern.
While mastering the fundamentals should be a lifelong pursuit, this workshop will build upon and expand on the skills learned in Rope 101 to help take you to the next level. This workshop typically covers a review of the Rope 101 fundamentals followed by joining rope, a two-rope chest harness, the Somerville Bowline Single and Two Column, and some free-form practice drills.
